Chris Dammann

The owner and chief instructor of Hudson Valley Krav Maga is Chris Dammann. Chris has over 30 years experience in the martial arts. He has achieved advanced black belt degrees in 5 different styles of Karate and continues to train under Relson Gracie of the Gracie Jujitsu system.

In addition to this, he was a high school wrestler (Long Island-section 11) and college level (NJCAA) wrestler and has been a wrestling coach ever since. He is currently the head wrestling coach for the Ossining school district. He has fought in amateur full contact MMA competitions and was a member of the U.S.A National Karate Team in 2007. He is the only 7 time N.Y. State Karate Champion and was the U.S.A. National Champion in 2002 and again in 2010. He was named Best Fighter/Competitor of the year by Action Martial Arts Magazine in 2005 and was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame at Madison Square Garden in 2004.

Chris was a member of the N.Y.P.D. Auxiliary Police Force (1996-2002) and was one of their defensive tactics instructors. He has been training in Krav Maga since 2006 and has been teaching since 2009. He is currently training in the expert instructor series within Krav Maga Alliance.

Alvin Alcera

Alvin Alcera is the Lead Instructor at Hudson Valley Krav Maga. The Lead Instructor assists the Chief Instructor in all teaching capacities. He currently teaches all the Level I and II classes. Alvin Alcera began his training with Chris in the summer of 2010. He trained very hard and quickly developed a high level of proficiency.

He demonstrated a very strong grasp of the concepts and techniques being presented in class. It became apparent that Alvin was instructor material. Alvin traveled to Boston Massachusetts and passed his Level I Instructors course in the fall of 2011. He then went on to pass his Level II instructors certification course in the winter of 2013.

He started his own class in White Plains N.Y. and produced several quality students of his own.

Alvin now teaches the Krav Maga Fundamentals class, which consists primarily of Level I and Level II concepts. He is an energetic and dynamic instructor who brings a passion for teaching and shares his knowledge with all students. You will leave his class exhausted, tired and wanting more.
